The lord of the rings The fellowship of the ring. written by : J.R.R. Tolkien. The books main characters are frodo,gandalf,Sam,Merry,Pippin,Aragorn,Legolas,Gimli,and Boromir. other characters include sauron,saruman,Bilbo,and gollum. This story is more of a fantasy story about a hobbit named frodo who recieved a magical ring from his dear friend Bilbo. Gandalf an old wizard and one of bilbo's other close friends helped frodo to understand the power of the ring more . the ring was one of many rings of power . This ring was created by the evil Sauron so that he would be able to rule over everything . So Frodo and his friend Sam set off to a place called Mt.Doom the only place on middle-earth where the ring could be destroyed . On the journey frodo and Sam meet others such as Merry,Pippin,Legolas,Aragorn,Gimli,and boromir. They also must escape from the dark members of Sauron's evil rule.
